Beach Bliss vs. The Blues: How Are You Really Feeling?

Posted on November 2, 2023February 27, 2025 by Grief Recovery Specialist Frank Wyatt

So, I did a little experiment on social media the other day. I asked a simple question: “How are you feeling right now? And can you relate to that feeling?” The responses? Wow, they were a real rollercoaster!

We had everything from “blessed” and “grateful” to “totally depressed with the time change in cold weather,” “tired,” “unappreciated,” and “exhausted.” It was a real mix, right? A few of you were feeling “sad,” “overwhelmed,” “hurting,” and even “empty.” And then, there was the one person who was blissfully happy, soaking up the sun at the beach. (Jealous? Just a little!)

It really got me thinking. Why such a range of emotions? It’s clear that life throws us curveballs, and what’s happening in our personal lives plays a huge role. Job stress, relationship issues, family drama – we’ve all been there, haven’t we?

It’s amazing how much our feelings can impact our day-to-day lives. And honestly, I think we need to talk about it more. We all experience these ups and downs, and sometimes, just knowing you’re not alone can make a world of difference.

I’m definitely planning on diving deeper into this topic in future posts. We’ll explore how our feelings influence our actions, our relationships, and even our overall well-being.

In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. Does any of this resonate? What are some of the things that affect your mood? Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments!
