Life is full of challenges, and I know firsthand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed. At times, it can feel like the weight of responsibilities, emotions, and uncertainties are just too much. But I’ve also learned that our struggles don’t define us—our faith and the steps we take forward do.
For me, maintaining a positive attitude isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s about trusting in God, leaning on His promises, and taking real, practical steps toward healing and growth.
A Turning Point in My Life
About a year and a half ago, I went through training to become a Grief Recovery Method Specialist because I wanted to help others who were struggling with loss. But what I didn’t expect was how much that training would reveal my own brokenness.
As I walked through the process designed to help others, I discovered how much pain, trauma, and unresolved grief I was still carrying. Growing up, I experienced bullying, abuse, and deep wounds that followed me into adulthood. I didn’t even realize how much they shaped my perspective—sometimes in ways that weren’t healthy.
When we admit things like this, we become vulnerable. But I’ve come to understand that God wants us to be honest with each other. Healing isn’t about pretending we have it all together—it’s about acknowledging where we’ve been, trusting God to walk us through it, and allowing that journey to shape us into people who can help others.
Why I Do This Work
Going through the Grief Recovery Method—combined with my walk with God—transformed the way I see people. The pain I experienced growing up could have made me bitter, but instead, it gave me a deep love and compassion for others.
I’m not saying the things that happened to me were “supposed” to happen. People make choices that cause pain and sorrow, and some wounds take time to heal. But I am saying that with God’s help, we can persevere through anything.
And that’s why I do what I do—because I know what it’s like to feel broken, but I also know what it’s like to find hope and healing. And I want that for you too.
